Accomplished musician Margot Prendergast, 81

Margot Prendergast, a longtime resident of Manhattan and Naples, Florida, died April 16, 2017 in Naples. She was 81.

She was born to Kathryn and John Reynolds, growing up in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. She attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut, graduating from the Pius X School of Liturgical Music at Manhattanville College.

She was an accomplished musician, and also received a degree in arts management from Marymount University in Manhattan. While in Manhattan, she was an active and successful real estate broker with her own company.

She was a volunteer in the special events department of the New York Philharmonic, and a member of the Naples Music Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Terrance Prendergast, as well as her brother John J. Reynolds Jr., of Manhattan, and sister Barbara Elliott of Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by a daughter, Kate Prendergast Mesirow, and three grandchildren, as well as brothers Mike Reynolds of Tarrytown and Chris Reynolds of Lakeville, Connecticut.
