LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

All from the mouths of babes

To the editor:

My young son and I sat down in horror on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and witnessed an insurrection that was incited by our very own president, Donald Trump.

He cried, and afterward, he asked me to help him write a letter to the good people of this country. He cleverly thought of an acrostic that sums up Mr. Trump’s name (Tetchy racist un-American mean-spirited poopyhead).

He is saddened by the events of the last two months, and of the last several days in particular.

He would like to speak to America.

His name is Dylan Boucher.

Debbie Boucher

Dear America,

I am 8 years old, and I am truly disappointed in our country.

On Jan. 6, 2021, I saw a wave of angry people attacking the Capitol, and I was stunned by it all. What I saw was shocking and scary.

I thought it was a bad dream, or a video game. I could not believe that the president encouraged this.

A president should be a person of honor and integrity. But Mr. Trump showed neither. Mr. Tetchy racist un-American mean-spirited poopyhead behaved like a crybaby, and I think back to my younger days in the sandbox when I was told to play fair and not be a sore loser.

Please America, for the sake of the children, do the right thing!

Leaders, please lead. And think about the many, not the few.

I am Dylan Boucher.
