Another weekend without the 1 train in the Bronx

Posted

Maintaining tracks and drains take a long time, apparently. So long that for yet another weekend, getting on and off of the Bronx section of Broadway by subway will be impossible.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is shutting down the 1 train between 137th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street beginning at 11:30 p.m., on Friday, and running through 5 a.m. on Monday. Scheduled work includes drain maintenance at 168th Street — where the platform for 1 trains remain closed because of elevator replacement — and track replacement through the rest of the route.

Alternate routes include free shuttle buses, the M3 and M100 buses, and the A and C trains — although the C only runs through 168th.
