To the editor:
The Christmas tree that was put up at the Riverdale Monument recently is puny, underwhelming and altogether insufficient.
As a Jewish person, I am always embarrassed at how inadequate the tree is each year. If we are sincere about honoring/recognizing each other’s traditions and religious holidays, then we need to ensure that we do it with a generosity of spirit, which makes everyone feel appreciated and acknowledged.
Let’s truly celebrate our diversity in a way fully commensurate with the spirit of the season.
Happy holidays!
