Community board is here to help

To the editor:

During unprecedented times like these, it is most important that we all stay well and safe. It is also important that we stay connected and become part of a larger community seeking information and friendships. Although we are apart, we can still come together, virtually.

Let me share what Community Board 8 is doing to stay involved with you in our community.

From your home, we welcome you to join our committee meetings and board meetings by video conferencing or telephone conferencing. CB8 is using Zoom to host meetings. All meeting links and call-in information are listed on our meeting agendas.

Our community board office, while closed, remains working and accessible by telephone or email.

The district manager and staff are working from home and stand ready to assist you with questions, problems, etc. All your emails and phone calls continue to be answered, and our goal is to run the office the same way we always have.

Lastly, the community board continues to send out information from government sources and not-for-profit institutions that may be of interest to you and your family. Please encourage your neighbors and friends to sign up for CB8 emails and follow us on Facebook.

Again, stay well, stay home, and let’s stay connected.
