For shame!

(re: “Dinowitz urges vaccination legislation,” May 2)

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz is to be applauded for standing up for science.

Unfortunately, a religious leader, Rabbi Hillel Handler, has used his authority to stand up for superstition and oppose the measles vaccine, putting not only his followers in danger, but the larger community with whom they come into contact.

Worse still, Rabbi Handler assured hundreds of people in Monsey on May 13 that getting the measles (also mumps and chickenpox) reduces your chances of getting cancer, heart disease and stroke by 60 percent.

For shame!
