1. Postal truck thieves nabbed
Two women were arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a mail truck and then threatening a bystander who tried to intervene, police said. The bystander saw two women walking away from the truck with packages and mail in hand on July 5, police said. When approached, the women allegedly threatened the victim before trying to flee the scene. The women were arrested around 2:30 p.m. on the same day. This case is closed to investigation.
2. Pair robbed at gunpoint
145 W. Kingsbridge Road
Bronx, NY
Three women are suspected of robbing a young man and a woman at gunpoint in front of 145 W. Kingsbridge Road, police said. The pair – a 20-year-old man and a woman whose age was not immediately known – were walking at 1 p.m. on July 3, when three women approached them with a gun and demanded everything in their pockets. After the robbery, both victims were assaulted, police said. The attackers made off with an Apple iPhone worth $800 and other miscellaneous items. This case is open to detectives.
3. Marble Hill robbery
2 Marble Hill Ave.
New York, NY
A 22-year-old man was robbed in front of 2 Marble Hill Ave., when he was walking home at 2:50 a.m. on July 2, police said. An unidentified male walked up to the alleged victim, threatened him with a gun and demanded everything in his pockets, according to police. The attacker made off with $10 in cash and $500 worth of miscellaneous items, including a cell phone. This case is open to investigation.
4. Bronx Burger House burglarized
5816 Mosholu Ave
Bronx, NY
Owners of the Bronx Burger House found their restaurant broken into when they arrived to open it for business on Sunday morning, police said. The owners came to the restaurant, located on 5816 Mosholu Ave., at 10 a.m. and found the front window smashed. The restaurant was broken into the night before, the owners told police. Video footage showed an unidentified man break open the cash register but leave without taking any money, police said. This case is open to detectives.
5. Motorcycle stolen
3340 Bailey Ave
Bronx, NY
Unidentified perpetrators stole a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle that had been parked in front of 3340 Bailey Ave., police said. The owner of the Yamaha, a 48-year-old man, parked his motorcycle at around 10 p.m. on Sunday and returned the next morning at around 10 a.m. to the sight of three cut locks. There were no cameras on scene and the case is closed to investigation.
