The Angel’s Share, Green-Wood Cemetery’s acclaimed opera and chamber music series, will kick off its second season with the first-ever Burgers, Bourbon, & Beethoven Festival. Presented by Death of Classical and The Green-Wood Historic Fund on May 25, 2019, audience members will enjoy a burger cook-off competition, a sampling of whiskeys, and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony performed by the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, conducted by Eli Spindel. The festivities take place on the grounds surrounding Green-Wood’s landmarked Gothic Arch.

Competing for the “Golden Spatula” will be Harlem Public and Madcap Café, with their burger recipes tasted and rated by the audience in real-time via the Burger Club website (brgrclub.com). Whiskey will be provided by Angel's Envy, Blackened American Whiskey, Five & 20, NY Distilling Co, Van Brunt Stillhouse, Widow Jane, and more. Matt Abramovitz from WQXR will MC. Pianos for The Angel’s Share are generously provided by Yamaha.
