Late praise for Engel

To the editor:

Congressman Eliot Engel has a long and distinguished record of service to his district, his state and his country. Politico talked of his committee leadership racking up quiet wins for accountability against the Trump administration.

Congressional Quarterly said years ago that for a district as diverse as his, support for human rights abroad was “a form of constituent service.”

He has been consistently progressive on a host of issues, ranging from choice to LGBTQ rights to support for action on climate change.
