Let us be Americans

To the editor:

People don’t die from COVID-19 as Democrats or Republicans.

People aren’t unemployed as Democrats or Republicans.

People aren’t evicted as Democrats or Republicans.

People aren’t on food lines as Democrats or Republicans.

Suffering, dying, agonizing isn’t a political thing. It’s a human thing. We’re all in this together.

At a time of legitimate national crisis, we must rise above partisanship and band together to get us the hell out of this God-awful mess we’re in.

Let’s lay aside blame for a moment and experience the joy of working together to save lives, help suffering families and children, just as we did during World War II, to defeat this damned COVID, which is attacking the entire world.

Let us be Americans.
