Make a little noise

To the editor:

Peaceful protesters are being called “thugs” or “enemy combatants,” threatened by U.S. armed forces on U.S. soil. Their right to freely assemble under the Constitution seems to have gone out the window. Little by little, our rights as Americans are being stripped away.

When will we have any Republican say, “Enough!” to the tactics of President Trump? Their silence is deafening. In the balance, the United States of America, as we know it, stands by a thread.

People in Germany and around the world in the 1930s did little to nothing to stop Hitler.

People in America in the 1950s said little to stop the McCarthy hearings.

Now is the limited time to be heard before we lose our republic.

Make noise.
