Meet Amber Charter School … again

The Amber Charter School opens its doors again in an effort to reach out to prospective students.

The latest open house at 3120 Corlear Ave., campus, is set for March 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m. It gives interested parents and students the chance to see what the Kingsbridge school is about while getting an opportunity to meet teachers there.

Musical madness at Lehman College

Lehman College celebrates March in a frenzy of art and music.

Goya Foods hosts a Latin-themed dance and music concert March 16 beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $100. For more information, visit LehmanCenter.org.

Then Allan Molnar will perform jazz, Latin and electronic music in a performance that starts at 3:30 p.m., on March 19.  For more information, email music@lehman.cuny.edu.

But music isn’t the only thing Lehman will showcasing at its 250 Bedford Park Blvd., school. The documentary “Decade of Fire” will screen March 21 at 12:30 p.m., in Lovinger Theatre. For more information, email Eileen Markey at eileen.markey@lehman@lehman.cuny.edu.

On March 22, University of Pennsylvania professor Joseph Francisco will deliver a lecture at Recital Hall beginning at 5:15 p.m., talking about “From Complexes to Aerosols: New Insights into Atmospheric Chemistry.”

 

RKA roars through cinema competition

Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy gears up for its annual film festival — the RKA Roar competition on April 13.

There, students create their own films and submit them to compete with others.

The young filmmakers are given the opportunity to win awards for their original projects.
