Messinger backs Haller

Former Manhattan borough president and city councilwoman Ruth Messinger is taking sides in the upcoming planned special election to replace the outgoing Andrew Cohen. She’s backing Jessica Haller.

“Jessica has the experience, passion and knowledge to get things done for our city,” Messinger said, in a release. “She is someone we can rely on to prioritize social and climate justice, and have our backs as we navigate one of the most challenging times in our city’s history.”

Messinger led Manhattan between 1990 and 1997.
