Missing questions

To the editor:

Republican senators and the lawyers who represented the president in the Senate impeachment trial have repeatedly raised questions about the legitimacy of the appointment of Hunter Biden to the board of directors of the Ukrainian national gas company, Burisma.

Hunter Biden did not speak Ukrainian, and he had no relevant experience in anything related to the natural gas industry.

Yet none of those senators — or any of the lawyers — made a peep about Trump’s appointment of Gordon Sondland as the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, despite Sondland’s complete lack of diplomatic experience or governmental service, simply as a reward for his $1 million gift to Trump’s inauguration.

Why is that?
