Construction work continues on the Henry Hudson Bridge, but so do the closures — and the detours that come with them.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials say they plan to close the lower level of the bridge overnights between midnight and 5 a.m., beginning Tuesday, Nov. 19, and running through Saturday, Nov. 23. This would affect late-night traffic on the Henry Hudson Parkway to Manhattan.
That means southbound traffic will be detoured onto Kappock Street at Exit 18, with motorists following a detour through local streets to the Broadway Bridge. Vehicles will continue down Broadway, re-entering southbound on the Henry Hudson Parkway at Dyckman Street at Exit 17.
The work is part of the overall $86 million renovation project for the bridge that includes the removal of columns and toll islands from the old toll plaza on the lower level roadway, designed to improve traffic flow.
