Agnes Murphy, a Riverdale resident of 30 years, died Sept. 4, in Fremont, N.H. She was 89 years old.
Born Sept. 1, 1921, in Ballydonegan, Allihies, County Cork, Ireland to Catherine and Denis Sullivan, she came to New York in 1947, where she lived for the next 60 years.
She married Timothy “Ted” Murphy on June 26, 1954 and spent the rest of her life as a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, her family said.
She was predeceased by her husband; her sisters Catherine Roche, Johanna Heneghan, Peg Dennehy, Sr. Denise, Bridget Cadogan, Lil Denehy; and brothers John and Eugene Sullivan.
Ms. Murphy is survived by two children; Timothy Murphy of Manchester, N.H.; Denise Harrington and her husband Kevin Harrington, of Fremont; and grandchildren Maureen, Kristen and Sean Harrington.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Margaret of Cortona in Riverdale.
