LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Thanks to those on the front lines

To the editor:

We and other residents of the Algiers, located at 3616 Henry Hudson Parkway, are writing to express our gratitude for essential workers during this unprecedented time.

In particular, we appreciate the many public servants who have been asked to place themselves and their families in potential danger as they serve the greater good.

Our building, along with many others in the 10463 ZIP code, has not been receiving mail recently. And while this is an inconvenience for us, it has reminded us of how many hard-working New Yorkers contribute to the everyday functioning of our lives.

All of these individuals deserve safe working environments and the protective equipment that is vital to their well-being.

We send our best wishes for health and safety to our postal workers and to all others — medical professionals, first responders, delivery and repair workers, grocery and pharmacy employees, and our own excellent building staff — who continue to work through this crisis.

Their efforts allow the rest of us to shelter in place and, we hope, bring the pandemic to an end with minimal loss of life.

Thank you.
