1. Violent robbery

Three men robbed a 24-year-old man at 4 a.m. on Tuesday in front of 3344 Independence Ave., according to police.

The victim told police that while walking home, a black vehicle pulled up and two men jumped out and approached him.  One simulated that he had a gun in his jacket pocket, while the other took his wallet and other items.  A third perpetrator approached the victim from behind and hit him, taking cash from his back pocket in the process. 

After the assailants had taken all of his items, the third attacker told the other men to shoot the victim before getting back in the car and fleeing the scene. The victim described the suspects as a Hispanic male with a short Afro, about 5-feet-7-inches tall and two Hispanic males about 6 feet tall.

The robbers took an iPhone 6s, an Asis laptop and $100 cash. The case is still open to detectives.

2. Phone stolen on bus

Police said a thief stole a 43-year-old woman’s smartphone while she was riding the bus on Sunday around 4:40 p.m.

The victim told police she was on a packed Bx7 bus heading north towards West 264th Street with her headphones in her ears and the connected phone in her open purse. When the music suddenly stopped playing, the woman checked her bag to find that her Samsung Galaxy 6 had been stolen from inside. 

The phone was valued at $800 and the grand larceny case remains open to detectives.

3. Early AM robbery

Two women, ages 28 and 22, were robbed on the corner of West 256th Street and Broadway around 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.

They were reportedly walking north on Broadway when two men approached the victims carrying knives and demanded that the two women hand over their property.  The suspects, described as a 5-foot-4 black man and a 5-foot-8 white Hispanic male, took goods including a 2G Boost cell phone worth a total of $290.

The case is still open to detectives.

4. Grand larceny auto

Police said some time between Dec. 4 and Dec. 11, a 1995 Toyota Camry was stolen from behind 6211 Broadway. 

The victim, 58, said after last seeing her car around Dec. 4, she returned to the location on Dec. 11 to find it missing. There were no security cameras at the location.

The value of the car was not disclosed to police and the case is currently closed to detectives.

5. Motorcycle stolen

A lime green Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen from the corner of Godwin Terrace and Kimberly Place on Sunday, according to police. 

The victim, a 45-year-old man, said after parking his motorcycle at 8 p.m. on Sunday, he returned on Monday around 9 a.m. to find it missing.

There were no cameras on scene and the case is closed to detectives.
