In September 2019, I had an emergency three-week hospital stay at NYU Langone that included major surgery. I was so ill, with a 104-degree fever caused by an infected hernia mesh, that surgery was not even possible until I’d been under treatment for more than a week.

Barry Ziman goes to great lengths to convince his readers that he is a liberal. Toward this end, he cites several instances throughout his career in politics in which he stood against racism and antisemitism. This is indeed most commendable.

You fail to mention in your recent story about the death of Jordan Neely what it is like to be on the subway. A subway car where the incident took place is locked. From one station to another, you can’t get out of that.
