Mt. Saint Vincent’s Month of Service

Posted

The College of Mount Saint Vincent will host its inaugural Month of Service as part of its Leaders in Service initiative for the month of October. It builds on last year’s Day of Service.

This year, volunteers will collaborate with agencies in the community, including the Midnight Run, POTS Soup Kitchen, local elementary schools, Habitat for Humanity, American Cancer Society and Sister of Charity of New York, as well as participate in campus projects and student-led initiatives.

Matthew Shields, director for campus ministry, says, “Our Month of Service will be catalyst to ignite more avenues for our students to engage in opportunities of service and leadership all across campus with our dedicated administration, faculty and staff serving as valuable mentors.”

The Month of Service will conclude with the Pictures of Service exhibit on November 7, 2013 in Benedict’s Founders Hall. The gallery will feature photographs taken by students of their service projects.
