Eileen Monahan:
“I find myself on social media a lot lately and I used to read a lot of books. I used to read almost a book a day sometimes. So, my New Year’s resolution is really to read at least 52 books next year.”
She added that she plans to re-read the book “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood.
“It’s about a … society that tries to control women’s bodies. I think it’s going to be frightening to read right now in these days [because of] our President-elect Trump. It doesn’t look good for the world,” Ms. Monahan said.

Marc Molomot:
“My New Year’s resolution is just to stay in the moment and be ready to react to a very scary time when our new government, which is going to present obstacles for people’s freedoms. I am a little bit worried this season.”
He added that people should react in a “positive, constructive and strong way” and stand up for people’s rights. “I think the Syrian refugee crisis is huge right now. Our Mexican brothers and sisters are at risk right now. The LGBT community is being targeted right now. We have to defend everyone but that could also be very positive … Social action could become stronger...and stronger in periods that are difficult,” Mr. Molomot said.

“I’ve been trying to get to Soul Cycle … I’ll probably be going twice a week in the next year … I really have not been diligent about making the time and you just need to be diligent,” Ms. Kiernan said.

Adonis Brooks, a high school senior, said he plans “to go college, get good grades and succeed in life.” He is interested in majoring in Theology in college.
Justin Alston said he plans to “show love to people” and to “say hi to people and say Merry Christmas and give respect.”
