Arrest made in stabbing on Sedgwick Avenue in Kingsbridge

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a stabbing of a 32-year-old man that occurred earlier this month, police said. 

The attack took place after the teen and man arranged to meet each other through an app.

The two met at the man’s apartment on Sedgwick Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road on Aug. 1 around 2:30 p.m., when at some point the teenager reportedly stabbed the man in the neck with a “cutting instrument.”

The boy ran away and the man was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital by EMS. According to police, the man was in critical, but stable condition, suffering a severe laceration.

Just about a week later, police from the 50th Precinct arrested the alleged stabber.

Deli robbed by four

A 33-year-old employee of Jasper’s Deli on 424 West 238th St. reported a robbery that resulted in $300 being stolen last Monday around 2:15 a.m., police said.

According to the victim, approximately four individuals entered the deli while he was working. The group demanded money while one person simulated a firearm. Police say they don’t believe an actual firearm was displayed.

The robbers took the money from the cash register and fled the scene. There were no injuries to the employee.

Tires and rims stolen

A man reported his tires and rims stolen from his 2021 Toyota RAV4.

He parked his car rear 555 Kappock St. on July 14 at about 12 a.m. He returned the next day around noon when he discovered the theft.

The value of the tires and rims was $2,800, police said.

Petty larceny

A man reported his parking sensor stolen from his vehicle.

He parked in front of 511 W. 232nd St. at about 10 a.m. When he returned at 11 a.m. he discovered the theft.

The sensors were valued at about $290, police said.
