Posted

For the second weekend in a row, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will cut off 1 train service between 137th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street.

The suspension begins at 11:30 Friday night and continues until Monday at 5 a.m. The 1 train will only operate between South Ferry and 137th Street, according to MTA officials.

To get between 137th and 168th streets, MTA recommends straphangers use free shuttle busses, or take on the A or C trains at nearby stations. For service between 168th and 191st streets, use the M3 or free shuttle buses, or the A train at nearby stations. Riders also can transfer between the 1 train and the A and C trains at 59th Street.

To travel between Dyckman and 207th streets, use the A train at nearby stations. To get between 207th and 242nd streets, take free shuttle buses to and from the A trains at 207th Street.
