Chloe Imhof makes URI's dean's list

Greater Riverdale’s Chloe Imhof was named to the University of Rhode Island’s dean’s list. Imhof was so honored because she completed 12 or more credits for letter grades and achieved at least a 3.3-grade point average.

Founded in 1892, the institution is the principal public flagship research and graduate institution in Rhode Island, with more than 14,000 undergraduates and more than 2,700 graduate students representing 48 states and 76 countries across the globe.

Also, it has 203 academic programs offering all students, including professional, distinctive education opportunities designed to meet the global challenges of today’s world and tomorrow’s needs.

Harvey named to Roger Williams dean’s list

Meghan Harvey of greater Riverdale earned the title of dean’s honors list at Roger Williams University.

Harvey is a full-time student and has completed 12 or more credits per semester and earned a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.

At Roger Williams, students are “prepared to be thinkers and doers” with more than 50 majors and robust offerings of graduate and professional programs across eight schools of study. Including Rhode Island’s only law school.

Bronx Science student makes deans honor list in college

Bronx High School of Science alumnus Ivan Panov just finished his second year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. As an architecture student, he also made the dean’s honors list for the Spring semester.

Panov is part of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, which was established in 1909 to foster timeless leadership on and off college campuses.

The dean’s honor list recognizes undergraduate students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5-grade point average or higher for the term.

Panov was a summer intern prior to Covid-19 at Superstructures Engineers+Architects.

His responsibilities were to keep storage room inventory, project submittals, clerical work, and various small calculation tasks for architects.

Holy Cross welcomes local

The College of the Holy Cross welcomed 825 new students to the class of 2027. One of them was Daniel Cruz of greater Riverdale.

Students who live on campus arrived from 38 states and territories and 12 nations across the globe on campus and moved into their residence halls on Aug. 26 where they were welcomed by students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Cruz began classes three days after.

“I am thrilled to welcome Holy Cross’ Class of 2027, a vibrate and diverse group of exceptional students,” said Holy Cross President Vincent Rougeau. “You chose Holy Cross, where classes are small, and the community is vibrant and ready for your contributions.”

“Here, you will be encouraged to speak up and engage. You will have your certainties challenged and perspectives broadened. And trust me, you will thrive,”

Founded in 1843, the college is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is among the nation’s leading liberal arts institutions. Also, it is a highly selective four-year, exclusively undergraduate college of 3,100 students.

This year’s upcoming class is made up of 53 percent women and 47 percent men. Nearly 30 are students of color and 15 percent are first generation college students.

Clark University dean’s list

A senior, Emily Rosenbaum of greater Riverdale who is a biology major with a concentration in bioinformatics and minor in computer science, was named to Clark University’s spring’s first honors dean’s list.

Rosenbaum maintained a grade point average of 3.8 or above.
