The Community Education Council of District 10 is still seeking a parent to fill a vacant seat on its 11-member board.

The councils, created in 2004, replaced local school boards after Mayor Michael Bloomberg reorganized the city Board of Education. The council provides a forum for parents of elementary and middle school students to air complaints to the community superintendent, Sonia Menendez, who comes to the monthly meetings.

Applications for all interested parents with children attending a school in Community School District 10 can be obtained from parent coordinators.

The application deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 31.

For more information, call the council's office at 718-741-7098 or e-mail ccolon1@schools.nyc.gov.
