The 2023 recipient of the Betty Campbell-Adams most valuable merchant award is the veteran-owned-and-veteran-operated Tree Army and their principals Nicholas and Joelle Lynch.

The late Betty Campbell-Adams’ son, Brandon Campbell, presented the award to the business at Community Board 8’s board meeting at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School on Sept. 12.

He highlighted numerous ways the tree care company has provided service to the community.

‘Tree Army refurbished and continues to maintain a flagpole from West 239th St. near the bell tower and the adjoining Veterans Park,’ Brandon said.

‘They participated in Toys for Tots during the holidays, they created local jobs and they support other combat service veterans with their transition to civilian life.

‘They also helped deploy crew members and helped provide equipment during numerous disaster relief efforts including the Puerto Rican relief for Hurricane Maria.’
