Bright future lies ahead

Friends and family gathered in the Robert J. Christen School, PS 81's new auditorium to watch their loved ones graduate from the fifth grade.

Former Principal David Parker encouraged students to "always keep a notebook" like Leonardo da Vinci and Thomas Edison.

"The future is bright for you," he said.

The fifth-grade class sang "Over the Rainbow" to a crowd full of flashing digital cameras. A group of students also played the recorder for the audience.
