Mowers: 13

Sam Heskett pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Mowers on Saturday. Heskett continued his hot streak to start the season, as he is now 3-1 in four starts with 48 strikeouts. Liam Padden and John Drotos each struck out three for the Exclusives.

New player Ronnie Tavaras went 4-for-4 with three runs, while Gabriel Hernandez went 3-for-3 with two triples, the second going all the way to the fence, and three runs. Noah Kazensky drove in two runs.

Minors Division

Dr. Hertz Dental Smilers: 12
Sotheby’s Closers: 6

Smilers pitcher Danny Drotos pitched two scoreless innings, recording six strikeouts, last Thursday at M.S. 141. Evan Kurtz went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs and Jai Clayton was 1-for-1 with three RBIs and two runs for the Smilers. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, the Closers started a rally with a bases-clearing triple by Anderson DeLeon.  

Adin Schifman had a big hit leading off the fifth and came around to score, but Evan Kurtz settled down and finished with three strikeouts as the game ended early due to darkness.

SRLL West Chelsea Veterinary Hospital Animals: 10
NRBL Pro Patria K of C Post 751 Yankees: 1

The Animals notched two victories this week due to strong pitching, timely hitting, and great base running. In their game against the Slicers, the Animals jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Kenneth Rodriguez walked and scored on a single by Jonathan Katzman, Zack Farber walked and scored on Brian Alberts’ RBI groundout and Kristian Ragland singled and scored on an RBI single by Lucas Ludgate. After Asher Raduns-Silverstein singled, Rory Naughton hit a big double to knock in the fourth and fifth runs of the inning.   

The Slicers got a run back in the bottom of the first when Pete Winarksi reached on an error and scored after Ari Wigder reached on an error.
