Antisemitism comes from the left

Steve Siegelbaum in his recent letter responding to Barry Ziman wrote that “Ziman engages in the dangerous game of false equivalence when he references antisemitism from the left and the right of the political spectrum.

“Of course, there’s antisemitism from all quarters. There always has been. But any fair-minded observer knows — and this is well-documented — that the overwhelming preponderance of antisemitism comes from the right.

“The most cursory research will substantiate this. To suggest otherwise — as Mr. Ziman does — makes the struggle against antisemitism more difficult because it takes our attention away from antisemitism’s true source.”

I consider myself a fair-minded person, but I strenuously disagree with Mr. Siegelbaum’s asinine assertions.

As to they being “well-documented,” I as, by whom? Mr. Siegelbaum conveniently neglected to mention that it was probably by a biased, radical leftist organization with zero credibility, such as the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The overwhelmingly most dangerous source of antisemitism in the USA comes not from the right, but from the left. Every once in a while, some “redneck, good ol’ boys” will scream out frightening statements like, “The Jews will not replace us!”

But there is never any real follow up to these blusterous statements that I’ve ever seen publicized. The real, actual, physical danger to Jews comes not from southern white ethnics but, from northern Blacks and from “river to the sea” Muslims. The Anti-Defamation League should have these statistics.

Leftist, liberal Jews like Mr. Siegelbaum always point to David Duke, a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan as their (seemingly) one and only example of a right-wing Jew-hater. Duke was elected as a Republican state representative in Louisiana, and was repudiated by that party.

He only served one term — and that was 30 years ago.

The real danger to Jews nowadays comes primarily from haters on the left such as Minister Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam, which has many influential supporters among the (all-Democrat) Congressional Black Caucus, and among Democratic party politicians throughout the country, including in New York City.

And these powerful Democrat politicians aren’t alone. There are other influential Jew haters throughout the United States, especially found among the radical, leftist college and university presidents, administrators, trustees and professors in schools from coast to coast. Unfortunately, antisemitic City College of New York is not alone.  There is much to fear in academia!

These are the true facts, Mr. Siegelbaum. Not your left-wing lies!
