Demolition underway at SAR High School

Late last week demolition of the former Capital One building at 5977 Riverdale Ave. began. DNO Equipment and Development of Flushing are expected to complete the demolition by Aug. 7. After the building is cleared, work will begin to expand Salanter Akiba Riverdale High School. The project calls for adding 50,000 square feet, which will include a sports facility and a setback building that will house space for prayer services and three classrooms. The new buildings are due to be complete by 2025.
