There’s a lot more to the Bronx’s culinary scene than Italian on Arthur Avenue, diners and delis near Yankee Stadium and seafood on City Island.

In fact, as Savor the Bronx, the first annual Bronx restaurant week reveals, the borough is home to a melting pot of ethnic and regional American cuisines.
Among the 40 restaurants offering deals for Savor the Bronx — which began on Nov. 1 and continues through this Sunday, Nov. 13 — a Boogie Down foodie can find cuisine ranging from French and Italian to Guyanese, Bangladeshi and Asian fusion.

New York City tour guide Susan Birnbaum, of SusanSez walking tours, said restaurant week could help residents of other boroughs find eateries in neighborhoods they haven’t previously visited.

“Some people know Arthur Ave., some people know Woodlawn, some people know Riverdale, but we have some gems throughout the borough that people should know about,” she said.

Ms. Birnbaum is leading a trolley tour of the Bronx on Friday, Nov. 11, during which she’ll talk about the history of various Bronx neighborhoods while she and her followers sample Irish, Italian, Albanian, West Indian, Hispanic and Jewish food.
“These folks are coming from all over. One of the premises that I work from is I want everyone to know that [good food] is the Bronx, too. I want people to know that this is part of the Bronx,” Ms. Birnbaum said of the borough’s culinary offerings.
Ms. Birnbaum said her tour will likely include a stop at Liebman’s, one of Riverdale’s famous Kosher delis, offering a restaurant week special that includes a sandwich, a cup of soup and a soda for $11.99.

Other restaurant week deals in Riverdale and Kingsbridge include the Bronx Ale House, which has a special $11.99 lunch menu; Lloyd’s Carrot Cake, which is offering 20 percent off; and a complimentary coffee and dessert come with every entrée order at Riverdale Steak House and Santa Fe Grill.

Betty Campbell-Adams, the owner of Lloyd’s Carrot Cake, said she’s aready gotten a lot of restaurant week customers.
