Marla Shelton marries Stephane Lenhof in France

Riverdale native Marla Lynn Shelton married Stephane Michel Yves Lenhof on Sept. 22 in a civil ceremony at hotel de ville, in Ecully, France.

The bride, 41, is a filmmaker and educator. She is currently producing a documentary for PBS's Great Performance Series on jazz music in Paris during the 1920s. She graduated from Riverdale Country School in 1984, and went on to Amherst College, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She also holds degrees from the University of California, San Diego and the University of Southern California.

Her parents are Arden B. Shelton and the late Dr. Marvin L. Shelton.

The groom, 40, works as a photographer in the American division of the French photography agency, Eliot Press.

He is the son of Claudine and Michel Lenhof of Ecully, France.

The couple met during the Cannes International Film Festival in 2004. Mutual American friends introduced the two while in Paris.

They have a son, Zed-Etienne Marvin Shelton Lenhof, who will turn 2 this month. The couple became engaged four months ago.

On Oct. 20, the newlyweds celebrated their nuptials with friends and family at the Cosmopolitan Club in Manhattan.

Among the guests was former New York City mayor, David Dinkins, who was a personal friend and classmate of Dr. Shelton, the bride's father.

The couple honeymooned in Tahiti and is living in Ms. Shelton's childhood home on Ladd Road.
