Person leaves scene of a  hit-and-run

Police received a report of a hit and run in Riverdale on Saturday, Dec. 30.

A 54-year-old man reported to police that he parked his vehicle in the vicinity of West 252nd Street and Arlington Avenue around 6 p.m.

However, when he returned around 8 p.m. he discovered damage to the vehicle from an unknown vehicle that fled the scene, police said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the hit.

Grand larceny auto reported

A man reported his car stolen near Van Cortlandt Park last Thursday.

The 41-year-old victim reported to police that he parked his gray 2012 Hyundai Elantra opposite 6665 Broadway around 8 a.m. on Jan. 5. However when he returned around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, he discovered the car was no longer there.

He filed the report the next day around 5 p.m. There have yet to be any arrests.

Vicious raccoon reported, not found

Police received a report of a vicious animal on 6029 Riverdale Ave. around noon on Jan. 30. While police responded to the call, the animal was marked as unfound.
