Riverdalian Eric Hawkins marries college sweetheart

Eric Cullen Hawkins, a native Riverdale resident, married Sarah Alexander Williams on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The bride, 25, is a school psychologist. She graduated in May with a master's of education in school psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University. In September, she will work as a school psychologist in Westport, Conn.

She was a member of the United States Short Track Speedskating Team from 1998 to 2000.

Ms. Williams is the daughter of Alexandra and Joel Williams of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Her father is the director of Global Treasury Management at S.I. Group, Inc. in Schenectady, N.Y. Her mother is a speech and language pathologist in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District in Burnt Hills, N.Y.

Next month, the groom, also 25, will become a law clerk for the Honorable William C. Conner, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. This May he graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law.

In September 2008 he will become an associate at Weil, Gotshal and Manges.

Mr. Hawkins, a Horace Mann graduate, is the son of Katherine Hawkins and Paul Chrzanowski of Riverdale.

The groom's mother and father are physicians in private practice in Manhattan. His mother is also an attorney at Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman and Mackauf.

The couple met at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. where they both graduated.

Msgr. Thomas Kelly of the Church of St. Augustine Roman Catholic Parish in Larchmont, N.Y. and Father Thomas Parke of Bethesda presided over the ceremony.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Bermuda and will live in Bronxville, N.Y.
