Robert Nilva, Riverdale Press sales exec, was 72

Robert Nilva, a former sales account executive of The Riverdale Press, of Riverdale passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 after a long illness. He was 72.

Nilva joined The Press in 2018 after more than 30 years of advertising experience, including a stint as marketing director for the Riverdale Review.

Born on May 1, 1951, Nilva graduated Bronx High School of Science as well as Lehman College.

Nilva, his wife, Sheila, and son, Zach, are longtime Riverdale residents. Sheila had served on the Riverdale Community Center board of directors for many years, while Zach is a fourth-grade teacher.

Robert Nilva had coached in South Riverdale Little League for more than a decade.

A memorial service was held Monday, January 8, 2024 at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park St in Hackensack, New Jersey.
