Teen arrested for robbing man near Van Cortlandt Park

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in the 41st Precinct and charged with robbery in connection to a theft that occurred near Van Cortlandt Park in the 50th Precinct on Nov. 11. The unnamed teen allegedly robbed a 24-year-old man at gunpoint in the vicinity of West 242 Street and Broadway.

The two apparently had met on Facebook Marketplace and met near Van Cortlandt Park so that the 24-year-old man could sell his Moncler jacket. However, once the teen tried on the jacket he allegedly reached down into his waist displaying a black firearm, the victim said.

The teen then apparently fled the scene with the coat on a gray Citi bike, southbound on Broadway. He was captured on surveillance camera.

Duo charged in officer assault head to court

The two men who allegedly assaulted an New York Police Department officer in Kingsbridge on Nov. 11 were supposed to be arraigned Tuesday. However, their case was adjourned for later this month, said a spokesperson for District Attorney Darcel Clark’s office.

The alleged attackers are Marquise Webb of Yonkers and Brian Innocent of New Rochelle, both 24. Webb will be arraigned on Dec. 19 while Webb will be arraigned Dec. 29, the spokesperson said.

The incident in question occurred on a subway car around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The two men, later identified as Webb and Innocent, fled the scene but were later apprehended. At the scene police recovered a knife, a box cutter and a straight razor. Both men were charged with assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

Both men are still in jail until their respective arraignments.
