To the Editor: I am 91 years old and have lived in Riverdale since 1957, in the same house. I would like to share this story with your readers: more
To the Editor: Our values come from our environment. Parents are designed to provide our primary environment and extended family provides further environmental influence. more
To the editor: We recently announced our plan to take down unsightly sidewalk sheds and reclaim our streets. Sidewalk sheds — which many New Yorkers also known as scaffolding — are the ugly green and metal boxes that cover our sidewalks. They block the sunlight, keep pedestrians away from businesses, and are a magnet for illegal activity. more
(Re: “Pro-Palestine supporters: ‘Torres supports genocide,’” Oct. 26.) To the Editor: Many thanks to Rep. To the Editor: I would like acknowledge and thank Nick and Joelle Lynch, proprietors of The Tree Army. For a number of years they have lit the Chanukah menorah sponsored by Chabad Lubavitch of Riverdale, which is located at the monument at 239th Street. more
To the editor: If one drives or takes the (detoured) Bx10 bus past Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, one sees large, colorful and tastefully designed banners with nicely rendered tigers’ heads and slogans like “Home of the Tigers,” “Tiger Pride,” “Tigers Together, Tigers Forever,” “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger,” etc. more
