Jackie Harari’s schedule the past 11 months has been a rather full one. Her daily itinerary has for much of the past year included her usual heavy workload at school, as well as major knee surgery and countless hours of grueling rehab. What it didn’t include was any basketball — her injury from last February sidelined Harari for almost an entire calendar year. more
Nicole Price doesn’t have a lot of free time on her hands these days. When she’s not teaching English at IN-Tech Academy, she’s rushing to monitor study hall for the boys basketball team. Once study hall is completed, it’s off to the gym for the daily two-plus hours of practice. more

When the New Dorp girls basketball team arrived at Bronx Science for a Public School Athletic League quarterfinal playoff game last week, the Cougars came armed with stellar sophomore guard Sydney Gomes, widely considered one of the top players in the city. After averaging a little more than 23 points a game during the regular season, Gomes upped her play a level or two in the postseason. more
Everything inside Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy’s bandbox gym had you convinced a Tigers’ victory was only seconds away. Kai Parris, the Tigers’ stellar senior scoring machine, had just completed a three-point play with 7.7 seconds remaining in the game. The scoreboard read 56-55 in favor of RKA over IN-Tech Academy. And the decibel level inside the gym was hitting jet engine levels. more
Before the 2019-20 basketball season even began, Will Cushing knew it might be an uphill fight to secure a playoff bid.
