I take exception to the argument that criticism of Israel is intrinsically anti-Semitic. Just like we, as Americans, hold dear the right to protect injustice in our country, so must we, as Jews, show our love for Israel by criticizing injustice where it exists there.
It has been argued on this page that giving Palestinians equal rights under the law will result in the end of the Jewish state. But this argument begs the question: What makes a state Jewish? Is it controlling land?
Or is it standing up for moral justice and tikkun olam?
