To the editor: (re: “Disappointed, but still support,” Aug. 17) Riverdale’s relatively new congressman, Richie Torres, has made an impressive and successful effort to … more
(re: “Adams moves to remove sidewalk sheds,” Aug. 17) We all want sidewalk sheds down, including building owners. What neither the recent Riverdale Press story nor the letter published by Mayor Eric Adams the week before mentions is that owners pay for shedding, including a rental fee every month that shedding is up. There may be a very small number of owners who deliberately keep sheds up to avoid repair costs, but for most owners, it is the process that takes time. more
To the editor: (re: “Dems need to work together,” July 27) I am bemused by the debate going on regarding the altered petitions for the judicial slate put forward by our Democratic district leaders Abigail Martin and Ramdat Singh. more

To the editor: (re: “Why can’t we all just be nicer to each other?” July 20) My letter to The Riverdale Press is a response to a single point in Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz’s recent Point of View. more
To the editor: (re: “If a tree falls at Visitation site, will anyone be around to save it?” July 13) Not all that many years ago, a combination apartment building and medical facility was constructed on West 231st Street and Corlear Avenue. A huge sycamore tree was thought to be in the way, and talk of chopping it down went through the neighborhood. more
To the editor: In recent weeks, two outlets have published almost identical articles about the enormous profits Maximus Corp., has earned by removing people from Medicaid. The Lever story … more
